The project is about the further rollout of our PIM (Product Information Management) tool which is based on SAP Hybris. PIM is our central platform to manage and publish all marketing and sales relevant product data across channels for internal and external usage. PIM is used by all business units (Adhesive, Beauty Care, Laundry & Homecare) sharing the same hard- and software.


For the automated transfer of product data to external partners, we will use the Product Data Syndication Tool Productsup. The main tasks will be related to this tool and the PIM rollout activities on a global level.


Leistungsbeschreibung / task description 


The service of the contractor is delivered using an agile working method. External resources are needed as there is no internal staff with the required expertise in the following areas:


  • Product Content Syndication
  • PIM (Product Information Management)


Therefore, the external consultant is in a unique position and performs significantly different tasks than the internal employees.


One sprint consists of two weeks and there is a weekly jour fixe. During these meetings, the team discusses the current requirements and the contractor independently performs the following tasks:


  • Product Content Syndication
    • Setup automated data transfer between PIM and the syndication tool together with the vendor and implementation partner according to Henkel’s requirements
    • Setup and maintain attribute mappings in the syndication tool for the different retailers (“channels” are interfaces connecting the retailer to the syndication tool)
    • Provide professional consulting regarding developing an application maintenance concept for the syndication tool and related processes
    • Coordinate implementation of new channels with the syndication tool vendor
    • Check data quality / completeness and communicate necessary changes to be made by Business stakeholders so that data transfer to retailers can happen
  • PIM data analysis
    • Creation of data quality reports to check completeness of product attributes to enhance overall data quality
    • Coordination of data clean-up and data maintenance activities to reduce clutter
  • Testing IT related user stories in JIRA related to the implementation of the PIM tool
  • Maintain PIM data flow process overviews in MS Powerpoint to describe how the data from SAP is transferred to the PIM tool


The service of the contractor has the goal to introduce and establish the product content syndication tool Productsup as part of the overall PIM strategy and to facilitate PIM rollout activities for the countries defined by the business.
